I got this for my bedroom TV, so I can watch all of my blu-ray discs upstairs as well as on my home theater setup. I did not want anything with bells and whistles, just a player to do basic playback. And that is precisely what this player does.
I purchased the Sylvania NB530slx at Amazon and I am very glad I did! It arrived faster than I expected, and I had it linked to my HDTV in two seconds through HDMI. Put in a standard DVD I just received from from Netflix, "The Final Destination," and it performed flawlessly with a great quality picture.

I have had the Sylvania NB530SLX for a couple of weeks now and I am
very happy with it. It appears to load sooner than some machines and it
is straightforward to hook up and use. It has a very easy to use menu
that will have you watching your favorite Bluray movies in no time.
It does have some drawbacks. One nitpick is that when you could have the display set to show the time left in a chapter/disc, as opposed to the time elapsed, the front display does not show| a minus in front to indicate that, (though it does show the time left). More costly players usually do that. It's minor, I do know, but it’s something I wish it had. Plus, the remote isn't especially effectively designed. It does fine, it is simply too large and clunky.

This player is perfect for somebody who just needs to put in a disc and press play. I give it 5 stars because, for those who are in search of the cheapest solution to enjoying blu-ray, this truly is a 5 star product. Sure you could get a better player, but you’d have to spend a whole lot more. I am very happy with my purchase and I'm confident you will be, too.
